This time of the evening, we often watch two episodes of our latest show. That show is usually an old series we watch through before we choose another. We’ve watched all the episodes of Monk and S.W.A.T., and now we are watching Person of Interest.
Often I can relax and enjoy one-and-a-half hours of TV, but not in March. I find it difficult to only watch. I am usually busy reading and commenting on posts, writing my post for the next day, or, like tonight, studying Duolingo lessons for the day. Keith watches our show; I barely take notice of it. Here I am doing Spanish, while hubby was in the kitchen. (After he took the photo of me, I mean.)
Another common part of this slice of my day is to have a cup of herb tea.
I didn’t make any mistakes tonight in all four of the lessons I did in Duolingo. That is really unusual for me!
I’m hanging in in the Diamond Tournament this week.
By the way, the Diamondbacks beat the Cubs 8-1 tonight.
Denise,
When you finish Person of Interest, text me. I want to tell you something. Anyway, that show fascinated me when it was on, and I hated to see it get canceled. I rarely rewatch anything, even when I don’t pay much attention the first time through, as happened tonight. I will be glad when March ends. This challenge keeps me busy,
I’m glad I’m not the only one who multi-tasks when shows are on! I find that it is nice to have a bit of background noise when living alone, so I keep the TV or music on a lot. Sometimes I get sucked in and watch, but other times, I’m doing other things. I, too, liked Person of Interest. I was bummed when they cancelled it.
What language are you learning? I have not watched that show- will need to see if it is on Netflix. Most TV is made for multitasking!
Erika, I forgot to mention that in my post, but now I’ve edited it to add Spanish!
March has reduced the amount of TV I watch. I kind of like it. I have some old shows I like to rewatch, like Midsommer Murders or old Ms. Marple’s. Now I have a new show I can’t wait for new episodes to come out: Matlock with Kathy Bates in lead role.
Denise, your evenings sound similar to mine; my husband and I enjoy watching series on TV. I will have to tell him we need to watch Person of Interest! Like you, I have barely been tuned in as I try to keep up with composing and commenting for the SOLSC. I am so impressed by your Duolingo lessons and achievement! You are inspiring me to take this on myself…definitely after March 31st, ha!! The herbal tea sounds lovely — all in all, your post imparts such a sense of comfort.
Denise, in March our time is taken up with writing, reading, and commenting. It seems like there is little time to do anything else. But with only two days left in this challenge, I am not counting Tuesday which will make it seem like a 32-day challenge, I think we can say, “We made it!”
TV series usually lend themselves to multitasking, although you sometimes miss something crucial! I find myself doing the same and in March it’s working on slices or comments. I’ve enjoyed being a part of your day throughout this month!
It is comforting to know another enjoying an evening the same way I have. I recently rewatched This is Us and now giving Lost a try. Thanks for the idea to check out Person of Interest. And, yes, multitaking happens over here, too.
Denise – I loved this glimpse into your March life – TV, Duolingo, herbal tea. I am rarely home – always on the go and then use home to collapse and sleep and get up again – so it was relaxing to share your home time with you.
Well, Denise, I promise I didn’t read your post before writing mine, but guess what? Looks like we posted the same ideas right down to the pictures. Tea and TV. Evening routine. My game was Wordle. We may live on opposite sides of the country, but we are doing the same things with our slice of time in the evening it looks like! There is something about the comfort of being home and dwelling in peace – – not out in the world with the masses – – that brings assurance.
It is these everyday moments that make our life what it is. Thank you for sharing.
Yay, Diamondbacks; take that you Cubs! I love the over-the-should pic of you hard at blogging. How cool that you are in the Duolingo “Diamonds” line up and for a successful four-in-a-row lessons.
Denise, thanks for sharing your slice of life. Someone else was just talking to me about Person of Interest so I have it on my I must watch this list. It’s nice that your husband took a photo of you to help you with your post. Congratulations on the successful Spanish lessons.
I appreciate this glimpse into your evenings. I too find it hard(er) to watch movies during March as I am reading and or slicing! One of the really neat thing about slicing this year is that many have shared glimpses into their lives, rooms, chairs, and pets. I have not done so, yet, but am thinking about it……PS I am also doing Duolingo – Spanish this time after doing Italian for 4 years- as a support for my multilingual students. I was NOT flawless tonight but there is always tomorrow.
I can totally identify with the multitasking–tv watching, writing blog posts, wordling, commenting… My husband is constantly telling me that I don’t really watch TV–that I just want it on for background noise. Glad I’m not alone!
