How to Paint Hope

One of the lovely poems I read at the Poetry Marathon led me to use it as a mentor poem. Shloka Shankar wrote “How to Paint Joy” here during the eleventh hour of the Marathon. I followed with “How to Paint Hope.”

How to Paint Hope

Sip a cloud of fresh sea breeze.
Start with the softest orange blossoms you can find.
Now add to it the rich and smooth notes of the oboe.
Mix it. Sing it. Repeat.
Glide your brush across the canvas of your heart.
Make marks that bring you to the next oasis.
Know the Truth and be at peace until it’s time.

What else could you paint?
How about a poem “How to _____ Joy”? What else would work?
