Pacific Ocean and the Summer Solstice

Margaret Simon’s regular feature “This Photo Wants to Be a Poem” is published each Wednesday. Today’s offering is this beautiful photo by Kim Douillard. I wrote a tanka.

Swell, breathe, spill, repeat
Summer solstice salty spray
Rhythmic, routine play
Sunshine kisses on sea brows
Cooling fresh on a hot day
